"See from His head, His hands, His feet,

Sorrow and love flow mingled down!

Did ever such love and sorrow meet?

Or thorns compose so rich a crown?"

- When I survey the wondrous cross (hymn)

God foreknew a painful death would come

That he would cry tears of blood as he awaits the time

When he would be scourged and hung on the cross

But yet he still came for our sins to be washed

God foreknew that scorn and shame awaits

From the ones he loves- the ones he’s trying to save

He’ll be humiliated and trampled, though he is God

But yet he still came to bear the weight of our faults

God foreknew that even after what he’s done

That some would deny him and continue their own paths

Some would turn to idols while others would turn to self

But yet he still came, pursuing that one sheep who's lost

God foreknew that after a thousand years from then

That we would still sin against him again and again

He saw the sins that we would still do

But yet he still came, whispering “you’re worth it. This is for you”

Love so profoundly deep, it seems...

Love so undeniably great, it must be...

Love would explain this mystery

Of why God foreknew, but yet he still came...

"But yet he still came, whispering "you’re worth it. This is for you” "
